Jennifer Victoria Koranteng is Miss Ghana 2009
22 year old Jennifer Victoria Koranteng won the coveted crown of Miss Universe Ghana 2009 in a beauty pageant held in a closed-selection in Accra.
After several rounds of tests on individual presentation, personality, physical fitness (swimsuit competition), composure and grace (evening gown competition), as well general intelligence (interview round), Jennifer scored the most points beating Suzanna Naa Amuah Alberto Darko and Daphne Grace Allotey to 2nd runner-up and 1st runners-up positions respectively. The other contestants were left behind: Angela Effum and Matilda Hammond.
Jennifer Victoria graduated in the University of Ghana (Psychology Major). She stands 1.80m tall and will represent her country at the Miss Universe 2009 Contest on August 23 at Nassau, Bahamas.
The excited Jennifer Victoria says she would love to use her voice and new status to support the needy in society and to spell out the importance of education particularly for the girl-child. “I’m expecting to put Ghana on the map and to do very well. So people would know that Ghana is not only a land of gold and timber but also a land of great beauties.”
