FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT MY HOMETOWN/COUNTRY:
My favorite thing about my hometown of Freeport, Grand Bahama is that I get to experience both the city and family island life all on one island. I enjoy the tourist attractions like The Garden of the Groves, the Port Lucaya Marketplace and The Lucayan Caves as well as being able to sit back and relax with family and friends at a local fish fry or cook out. The Bahamas is filled with history and pride. I love the fact that every island has something different to offer, from pink sand beaches to five-star hotel resorts. Furthermore, our Junkanoo Festival is like no other. I have seen the effort it takes to prepare for such a celebration, it is unbelievable! I cannot forget our native dishes. I absolutely must have a conch salad just about every day. Lastly, the people are what bring it all together and I am proud to be a Bahamian.
LIFE'S AMBITITIONS:
My overall ambition in life is to achieve success and happiness in everything that I do. I have set many goals for myself which include starting charities in the search for the cure of breast cancer and HIV/AIDS, also mentoring and being a role model for young woman across the world, including the Bahamas, encouraging them to have boundless goals and not allow anyone including society to limit them on what they can achieve in life. I intend to not only achieve my goals but accomplish them with greatness. If I can be successful in changing the life of at least one person and positively changing the world in some way, then to me my life's ambition would have been fulfilled.
HOBBIES:
Watching films, writing screen plays, reading, writing poetry, fishing, volleyball, modeling, and acting
MY GOALS IN LIFE:
In five years I would love to have the overwhelming opportunity to have been crowned Miss Bahamas and have had the privilege of being the first Bahamian to be crowned Miss Universe. With these titles I hope to travel around the world as an Ambassador of our country, informing people that we are more than just beautiful islands and incredible vacation getaways. We are home to some of the world’s best doctors, lawyers, police officers, and entertainers. I would also love to have started modeling camps in the Bahamas for young woman where they can come and be encouraged to succeed in life and build self esteem. I want to teach them the importance of being educated and having a humble heart because beauty only exudes on the outside if there is beauty that comes from within. I would love to build a recreational center in both Grand Bahama and New Providence where our youth, ages 5-18 can come to a place after school and during school holidays where they can play sports, learn, hangout, and express themselves in a safe and monitored environment. Also I want to teach our country about the importance of saving our planet by learning about going green and keeping our country clean, so I would love to start a national Green Day in the Bahamas where everyone where’s a green ribbon and people go out of their way to pick up trash around the islands. We need to maintain our reputation for beautiful beaches and clean sea breeze filled air. After all “cleanliness is next to Godliness.” These are just some of the many things I see myself doing in the next 5 years. I believe our youth is the future of our country so I want to be as much as a positive impact in their lives as I can be to ensure that our country’s future can grow in every way.
MY BEST ASSET IS:
I believe that my best asset is my smile. I greet people with a smile every chance I get. I believe that it has the power to uplift a person and can brighten their day. The great thing is that a smile is universal because everyone smiles in the same language.
MY DAILY PHILOSOPHY IS:
Walk by faith not by sight. Every day I work towards reaching my goals in life, but only God knows my destiny. His plan for my life may be far greater than my expectations for myself so every day I follow the path that he lays out for me and trust in Him to guide me in the right direction.
THE MOVIE (AND/OR BOOK) THAT MOST INFLUENCED MY LIFE:
The movie Precious was not only influential, but also inspiring to me. It really helped me understand that there is no reason one should let their circumstances in life define what they can become. It also teaches that you should strive for the things you want to achieve. Life can be so hard and I just hope that I can be an inspiration to young women of our country to help enable them to go after what they want without looking back at past mistakes or hurt.
WHO I WOULD LIKE TO MEET AND WHY
The person I would love to meet is Beyonce. She is such a powerful, fearless woman who is not afraid to take risks and be different. She is an inspiration to woman across the world and always stresses her fight for female empowerment. Throughout all the fame and success she has managed to still have a humble, giving and loving heart and still puts her family first. Her love and passion for success and her career exudes in everything she does. She has been blessed with so much but gives just as much as she receives. Beyonce is my role model and I hope to one day touch the world the way she has.
I AM MOTIVATED BY:
I am motivated by being able to help people in need. I have been blessed with amazing parents and life changing opportunities. I'm so thankful for the blessings God has given me. I hope that He will continue to bless me in such a way that I can be a blessing to those in need around the world.
WHAT I WOULD LIKE THE JUDGES TO KNOW ABOUT ME IS:
I was a featured model on the hit reality TV show the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency. Working with Janice was an amazing opportunity and being on the show is something I will remember for the rest of my life. I am also the co-founder and host of the website TingEm.com. I helped start this website in the hopes that the many talented individuals of the Bahamas would be able to showcase their talent to the entire world. There are so many people in our country with so much potential to achieve great things but they just never get that opportunity and now I’m trying to give them their shot at fame with TingEm.com. Hopefully TingEm reaches a level of success where we are not only making people’s dreams come true through the web but also in person for instance, a talent agency in search of actors and commercial models called TingEm Talent. TingEm can open doors for so many people of our country and I believe Hollywood could use more Bahamian talent.
MY COMMUNITY SERVICE/ACHIEVEMENTS ARE:
Throughout my entire time in school I always maintained a G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher and was always an A Honor Roll Student. I've acted in commercials and TV shows. I have been in fashion shows and photo shoots for fashion designers in the U.S. and abroad.
