Fonthip Watcharatrakul, Miss Thailand National Costume Preview for Miss Universe 2010
Miss Thailand, Fonthip Watcharatrakul National Costume for Miss Universe 2010 beauty pageant was designed by the 25 year old Kelantanese born designer, Amir Luqman Othman.
His inspiration for the costume was from the legendary Kelantanese figure "Cik Siti Wan Kembang". Amir's idea was to showcase the beauty and strength of a warrior princess's legacy and her role as a woman of power through his design.
The color gold represents the wealth of Kelantan, meanwhile brown signifies the princess posses. The intricate gold lining don represents rivers that foreign merchants used to trade goods and bring prosperity to the land and the combination of gold and brown embodies beauty, power and mystery, on how she eventually became the ruler during her time and was called 'Queen Cik Siti Wan Kembang'.
