Rozanna Purcell moves to New York for Modelling

Her modelling career is going from strength to strength, but it seems her newfound success is playing havoc with Miss Universe Ireland 2010, Rozanna Purcell’s lovelife.

The Miss Universe 2010 Top 10 Semi-Finalist, who is due to take off for a new life in New York next month, admits that she and her other half Jamie Hunt have yet to decide if they will attempt to make their romance work from afar.

The couple have been dating for more than six months after meeting while studying at UCD, however Rozanna has revealed that she is uncertain about the prospect of a long-distance relationship.

“He’s not coming with me,” she told the Diary. “I don’t know what’s happening yet. We’ll have to see.

“I was always planning to take the year out and go travelling so I had deferred the year even before the Miss Universe Ireland contest.

“I’m due in New York on the third week of October but I’m thinking of leaving a few weeks early and doing some travelling around the States before I start working.

“People seemed to have enjoyed my online video links from the Miss Universe finals so I’ll probably continue doing them from over there to keep everyone up to date,” she added.

Upon arriving in the Big Apple, the beauty queen will spend two months building her modelling portfolio before she begins a year-long contract with Trump Model Management, owned by US mogul Donald Trump.

Praises

The billionaire businessman insisted on signing Rozanna to his books after meeting her in Las Vegas last month and has even been singing her praises on David Letterman’s chatshow.

Before she takes to the catwalk Rozanna will be jetting to Canada, where she has been invited to attend the gala opening of the glitzy Toronto International Film Festival alongside Columbian pageant coach Miguel Martinez next week.

The jet-setting beauty is also planning to fit in another trip to South America over the coming months after being invited to act as a guest judge at the Miss Venezuela beauty pageant.

Meanwhile, back on Irish soil the gorgeous brunette had plenty to celebrate last weekend, given that she turned 20 on Friday, while her home county of Tipperary scooped the All Ireland.

Roz was among those who donned blue and gold last night to welcome the team back to Thurles with the Liam MacCarthy cup.

The up-and-coming model explained how her parents, Cecily and John, who own Orwell Stud in Thurles, were ecstatic following the win.

“I couldn’t make it to the match itself but I was watching. I was absolutely delighted, we all were.

“I was at home in Tipperary and the atmosphere is fantastic. I also had my 20th birthday at the weekend so there was great celebration.

Suddenly

“We had a brilliant night in Lillie’s. It was so much fun. They really looked after us as we never got to have a party after I won the Miss Universe Ireland finals because I left so suddenly to go to Columbia,” she added.
