Dalysha Doorga was crowned Miss Mauritius 2009 on October 24, 2009 at the Movenpick Resort & Spa in Mauritius, Bel Ombre. She also competed at Miss Universe 2010 beauty pageant held on August 23 at Mandalay Bay Events Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
BIOGRAPHY
Since graduating with a degree in Textile and Fashion Design Daiysha has been working as a Freelance Designer and Fitness Instructor. Hobbies include: Dancing Aerobics, Swimming, Designing and Sewing. Personal Motto: ‘ Do not put off for tomorrow what you can do today!!’
INTERVIEW
Favourite Music / Books ?
Slow soul music, espcially when it is sung by Seal. But I really enjoy upbeat and dancehall music.
What is the proudest moment of your life or most memorable day?
There are two special moments that rank equally important in my life. The first being the achievement of 'Best Young Designer' in Mauritius in 2007. As well as my graduation as a qualified designer in 2009.
Describe yourself
A simple and humble person who is determined to find success and happiness in life. A risk taker and a go getter by nature.
Favourite food ?
Having made fitness part of my life, I focus predominantly on healthy food, like muesli, fruits, steamed vegetables. However I has a soft spot for curries.
Do you have any pets ?
2 dogs - Babazulu & Winnier. 1 cat - Jack.
Future ambitions ?
To become a lecturer of Fashion Design and a Top Fitness Instructor.
Special Talents ?
Fitness Dance - the splits.
Tell us a little something about your Country ?
Mauritius is known as the Jewel of the Inidan Ocean. It is a tropical island with the typical white beaches, blue lagoons and coral reefs.
Any other interesting facts ?
I can dive from a 3 storey building into a swimming pool!
