Silvana Vasquez competed at Miss Peru Universo 2009 contest at the Hacienda Villa de Chorillos, in Lima, Peru on April 4, 2009. Then, she was crowned Miss Peru Earth 2010 held at the Salon de los Espejos in Lima.
BIO:
A few years ago, my family got together to raise money to help families in the poor areas. That taught me the value of cooperation. I also learned that every opportunity with obstacles we need to overcome. And to do this we need to trust in God, trust in ourselves, in who we are and realize that life has much to offer.
Describe your childhood when you were growing up from 8 to 13 years old.
I remember many fun things; laughter, games and playing with my brother. I also learned every swimming strokes during summer and loved drawing a lot. I remember winning a drawing and painting competition then.
What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
In my life I had many opportunities that I've always waited for. It comes with obstaccles but I tried to overcome them. Only God can dive us the power to overcome everything, all we need to do is trust on who we are and know that life is very important and be real. Fight for what we want and realize that life has a lot to offer.
What is your most memorable moment?
One of the most important highlights of my life is winning the title Miss Earth Peru 2010. It was a moment that I will never forget, I was very happy when my name was announced as the winner and my efforts were recognized for an award like that. Representing my country Peru means a lot to me, and this I will never forget.
What is your environmental advocacy?
To save the habitat of humanity. We must know that Earth is in danger and we must know that everything we do against our planet endangers us as well. But we can change this if we start caring for our Earth. In many places, water is contaminated and treathens health conditions, and this will continue if we do not change now.
