Tribute to Denise Quinones: 10 years of Beauty

10 years ago, in May 11th of 2001 (a night like today), Denise Marie Quinones August was crowned Miss Universe 2001 at her hometown Puerto Rico in Bayamon, being this one of the most unforgettable and historic night of Miss Universe in the last decade. With Denise victory, she turned into Puerto Rico's 4th Miss Universe and made our little Island feel big and proud.

Besides being crowned Miss Universe that night, Denise also won the special prizes of Best Body, Best Hair and Miss Photogenic.

The celebration of Puerto Ricans after Denise victory. It was a very special weekend, as our World Champion Tito Trinidad won his fight in the same weekend that Denise won Miss Universe so we had lots of reasons to celebrate! Beauty Pageants and Boxing is two of the things Boricuas like the most.

In the past 10 years after Denise Quiñones won Miss Universe, she has been acting and taking part in many TV series, Plays, Musicals and Movies. She has also been part of various campaigns for children, human rights and etc. She has also tried her luck in music and is now recording a new CD in the Dominican Republic that will be called "Ruidos y Silencios" (Sounds and Silence)

Denise Quinones is one of the best Miss Universe ever...And even after her reign, she got even more success, doing what she loves to do, a woman to be admires.
