Tara Teng won Miss World Canada 2012 title
23 year old Tara Teng was crowned as the new Miss World Canada 2012 held at the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond on May 13. She was crowned by last year's Miss World Canada 2011 winner, Riza Santos.
Lisa Deane was the 1st run-up and Tanya Halata finished as the 2nd run-up.
Tara was from Vancouver. She will be the representative of Canada in Miss World 2012 on August 18 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China.
Teng's international project for the upcoming pageant was to advocate for the victims of human trafficking and modern slavery, from developing nations to Canada. Her work as an activist has earned her various awards and recognitions from non-profit organizations.
