Miss District of Columbia, Sierra Hadley
Age: 18
Hometown: Anacostia
Biography: Sierra's first language in school was French. She was enrolled in a French immersion program from kindergarten to eighth grade. Later, she attended Charles Herbert Flowers High School, where she was a cheerleader for three years. Two of those three years, she was chosen to perform with UCA cheerleaders in London. During her senior year, Sierra worked at U.S. Department of Agriculture on a boar semen preservation project dedicated to productivity and fertility of the working boar. That same year, she placed in the USDA science competition and made history for her high school.
Sierra has worked for the Department of Commerce and as a lifeguard at Six Flags America.
She enjoys charitable work, and each year, she collects canned goods for families in need, donates to Toys for Tots, and participates in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk.
Sierra is currently majoring in nursing at Howard University in Washington, D.C. and is a member of the cheerleading team. In the future, Sierra hopes to become a neonatal nurse practitioner.
