Donald Trump Makes Beauty Queens Face Reality
Donald Trump in cooperation with MTV are joining forces to create another reality show like "The Apprentice" and "The Real World". It's the "Pageant Place", which will be starring Trump's three Beauty Queens. Expecting more drama, tension and controversies that women now a days is facing.First part of the series will see Miss Universe, Riyo Mori from Japan, Miss USA, Rachel Smith of Tennessee and Montana girl Katie Blair, Miss Teen USA all living in one apartment in New York City just like all the previous "Queens" done during their year long reign, as they attend to their functions as pageant winners; this year they will live in front of cameras. The series will follow our Beauty Queens as they model, make appearances on behalf of various causes and embark on international trips.
Playing as a den mother and chaperone to the girls is the former Miss USA, Tara Conner who became the subject of controversy after reports of her partying surfaced last year during her reign. It could also feature drama between Conner and Blair, who have sometimes had a rocky relationship. At four-month intervals, one of the pageant winners moves out and a new one moves in; the first season will feature the transition from Blair to the new Miss Teen USA.
"What's great is that we're not bringing them together -- we're tapping into a real situation," said MTV programming topper Tony DiSanto. It will be produced by Trump Prods. banner, will be exec produced by Trump, Trump Prods. prexy Andy Litinsky and Miss Universe Organization prexy Paula Shugart and Evolution's Doug Ross. The series will go into production this summer and will be on MTV by the end of the year, execs said. Eight episodes have been ordered, though DiSanto said the net has yet to commit to a number.
Pageant Place will premiere on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 10:30pm at MTV.
